Longhorns Applique Pattern
So to jump start things, I am going to share my very first pattern! I scoured the internet looking for a pattern to make a crochet longhorn applique for my son and my husbands beanies I was making them! I couldn't find one ANYWHERE, so whats a girl to do? Make my own! Hope it helps someone out there!
Hook: I used an F5 (3.75mm) but you can use any size to get the gauge you want.
White yarn (I used Red Heart super saver yarn) Again, you can use thicker or thinner to get
the look you're personally going for.
Ch=Chain SC=Single Crochet st=stitch SS=Slip Stitch
(note: when working on rd 8-9 be careful not to twist chains and work from the tops)
Ch 4 and join to form ring;
R1- CH1, SC in round 8 times, join;
R2- CH1, SC in first 3 st, turn work;
r3- Ch1, SC across row, turn;
R4- Ch1, 2 SC in first st, SC in next st, 2 SC in last st, turn;
R5- Ch1, 2 SC in first st, SC in next 3 st, 2 SC in last st, turn;
R6- Ch3, SS in second chain st, Ch2, skip next chain st, sc across, turn;
R7- Ch3, SS in second chain st, Ch2, skip next chain st, sc next 7 st, turn;
R8- Ch 11, skip first chain st, SS in next chain st, 7 chain st, SS next 10, SC next st, SS next st, SC, SS, SC, SS, turn;
R9- Ch 11, skip first chain st, SS next chain st, ss next 9, SC next 4 st, SS next st;
Ch1, cut yarn with a long tail for sewing onto your project, pull stitch through and pull tight to finish!
